Hi Barbara,
Great suggestions!
>Short term: Go to your local user group. If you don't have one, start one, or join the nearest one. >
>
>Go to every job interview that sounds even remotely possible. The worst that happens is a few wasted hours. You may be surprised at what will work.
>
>Finally, for long term success, keep your clients happy. Adjust your UI to THEIR demands, even if it "Isn't Windows Standard". Ask the end-users to show you exactly how the do their job NOW and how they think it SHOULD be done. Then write your UI accordingly. Even the lowest data-entry person has good ideas about making his own work simpler.

Happy clients are the best clients.

>Oh, and with a new baby, get a chair that allows you to type while the baby sleeps in your lap. It's a lovely way to work :-)) I learned about 'sticky keys' in DOS days typing one handed while I fed the latest foster baby, and took the "Baby du jour" to the chair store with me to try out various styles.

I used a Fisher-Price Soothing Bouncer seat for our daughter. When I needed to work I placed it under my desk and bounced her with my feet. We were both very happy! Enjoy while you can, she is now 2 and taller than the desk.
