What exactly is happening when you lock up? CPU Utilization of 50% for what - 1 of the processors? or 50% for both (100% for one of them)?

Are you running in MTS?

There is a very serious bug in VFP 6 SP3 and Windows 2000 that will cause VFP COM components to lock up randomly, especially with MTS, but it will happen with standalone components as well. Microsoft has fixed this internally and it's slated for the next service pack (past SP4) but I think you can get a hotfix for this by calling support services if you have a reproducible scenario.
