>Is it possible to use VFP as the datastore when using a DAC (data access component) which will be object pooled? If so, can the OLE DB provider for ODBC be used or must the OLE DB provider due out with VFP 7 be used?

VFP cannot and will not be able to be run with object pooling. Servers need to be free threaded (MTA) to support object pooling in COM+.

If you're using a VFP component why would you use ODBC/OleDb to get to VFP data? As far as I know none of the performance data provider features (pooled connections - which doens't make sense for VFP, or distributed transactions) will be supported via the new OleDB provider. It will be multi-threaded though.
