Can VisualStudio.NET (the beta) co-exist on a machine with VS98 without any negative side-effects for VFP6?

If so, does it make that PC off limits for me recompiling and redistributing any of my VFP 6 applications?

I ask because I can put VS.NET on a separate machine - no problems. But I also carry a laptop when I go on-site to a customer (and sometimes update an existing app and recompile from the laptop) and I would like to put VS.NET on the laptop if it won't interfere. I remember problems with prior betas and ActiveX controls expiring out or something like that.
