For example, I install MusicMatch and it now takes control over whenever I insert a CD. So, I went into MusicMatch and uncheck that option. Now, when I insert a CD, no software is started. However, I would like Windows Media Player to take over that task. I am running Windows Millenium. I can't find where to go to set that up.

Did you try unchecking it, saving the options, then re-checking it?
Maybe it only changes the registry settings when you actually change the options?
