If RVs are being used, and there are a ton of desktops with the same view open, a change to the view by one user would cascade throughout the other open views (system?) - that would seem to slow the system down, wouldn't it? I'm not a SQL guru, but I have participated in projects that involved an entire re-write of the the system (eg RV to PV and front end SQL to stored procs), and it made a big difference in performance (at least to my rookie underastanding). Providing you engineer to reconcile the local cursor with the back-end, the system seemed fairly solid. I'd rather xBase than SQL, but what I saw in this project opened my mind
