>>Richard, have you run any diagnostics on your station? The problems you're having are either being dictated by real funky code, or (more likely) an OS gone haywire. VFP doesn't move files that belong to your app, unless you tell it to. Obviously, you have a problem that goes beyond anything that is VFP specific.

>Thanks for the reply, Matt. I have not run diagnostics on my machine because this is a new install of WIN95b on a newly formatted disk. I *had* to format the disk beacuse the 5.0 version of VFP *trashed* my system when it blew up during a debug session. So, I figured "what the heck, I'll go ahead and install the latest versions of these fine MS products because, surely, they will co-habitate peacefully." NOT! I can also tell you that two other developers I work with have seen other examples of VFP weirdness, both are running NT 4.0... In an ideal world, I would be able to spend all my time trying to chase down and stamp out these bugs, but, occasionally, I need to get some real work done so I can feed and clothe my family. I would also be less upset if MS had, at any time in the past, admitted they screwed up and came forward with a real, live interim release. Instead, they number them X.0a etc., and anyone who complains is told that it "must be your machine or your setup". I
>have been hearing this party line ever since FPW 2.5 and I'm getting a little tired of it... If my problems are caused by an OS gone haywire, well what can I say? MS developed, marketed, and sold the OS I'm using. - WIN95b.

Richard,

It is obvious that you known everything and that you have completely diagnosed this problem and that it is NOT your code or anything that you could have possibly done. So I guess we are all wasting our breath by trying to help you to get things working for you so can feed your family.

I have work to do in VFP ion a project that is NOT crshing and is not moving my data files and is not adding extra characters to my textboxes so I'll have to bow out of here on this one now and let you steam by yourself.
