Daniel
Thanks for the details.
Based on what you say, I'm going to review our use of RVs for a Breast Screening service whose mobile vans run with RVs across a modem. I'll be sure to post the result here- won't be till December though, I'm afraid.
A few details: it is our own app. It runs only with SQL Server. The scheduling side also needs to run against other databases so we won't be SP'ing that.
We'll be able to try SP'ing patient registration, symptom entry, radiography details- about 5 entry forms against quite simple single- or two-table views with indexed constraints.
No big documents. No large memo fields.
Should be interesting. There aren't thousands of these vans (!) so it will be the network constraint issue we test.
Regards
JR
P.S. I like the disclaimer!
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
