If you want to mail directly from VFP then check out IDS Mail or wwIPStuff.

If you want to stuff the emails into a local client for onward transmission then check out Nigel Coates Outlook and MAPI Classes in the Files Section.

BTW, speed need not be an issue. AFAIK, if you're sending a mail to multiple recipients the body (and any attachment) is sent only once from the client. The mail server takes care of the rest. If I'm wrong about this I'm sure others will let you (and me) know.
