Hi Evan,

The provincial mandate doesn't require that the front end be Oracle Forms. I've developed VFP\Oracle applications under the same mandate. It would be much cheaper to migrate the tables into Oracle and modify the VFP frontend. If your forms use local views, switching to remote views is not a big deal. Your reports would not need much changing.

I've used West Wind Web Connection to provide the internet portion of the application.

Is there a cost estimate of the complete Oracle solution? If so, come up with an estimate of a VFP\Oracle solution. I guess it is probably 1/3 the price of the complete Oracle solution.

Good luck.

Paul

>Today it was announced that a foxpro application that I created in 1994 is being phased out. The kidney unit (who I still support a few hours per week) is moving to an Oracle-based database that is hosted over the internet. They were happy with the application, but they were required to move to the Oracle system because of a provinical mandate.
