>>All that kind of stuff is handled by the data access classes. The cursor objects always know what SP to call, what parms to pass, what records have changed and what to do if an error is returned. Each lives in its own black box.<<
Are you saying the SP somehow knows what fields have changed and only gets those fields passed as parameters, without extra code at the client end?
If so, then the SPs you use are different from my understanding.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
