Have you tried bracketing the call to PHDBase with a:

keyboard ' '
DoTheSearch()
=inkey() && eat the key if it wasn't used to clear a possible error

I talked with Jim and he'll try to do his best to solve the "Memory streaming output has been disabled" message which appear on the desktop after a certain time PHDBase is running. As you know this message locks the application waiting for a key press.
