If you do install 7.0, make sure that you get the updates for it immediately, there is a bug in the auto-update agent that will use up all of your system inodes in 10 days. Don't expect to be able to compile a kernel easily in 7.0. Red Hat goofed with the compiler and you have to pass a couple parameters to pre-2.2.18 (not released) kernels to get them to compile.

Each machine has only one NIC. I am researching the use of software that allows the Linux PC access the internet connection on my NT machine.

Yesterday I started playing with the current configuration and it seems the two NICS can see each other. On the NT machine I can ping the Linux PC from a cmd window but not through the Network Neighborhood. The Linux PC can also ping the NT one. This works only with IP numbers, not by name.

I'll keep digging into this. Although I will probably return one of the NICs and just get a new PCI for the NT machine. I was going for two NIC's of equal models and since the Linux PC does not have PCI slots I went for the two ISAs.

Thanks,
