Stephane,

We have been using VSS here with our VFP projects for about 9 months now and find it well suited for our version control needs.

After going through some performance problems with opening projects over the WAN (some of our developers are on the west coast) we decided it was much more beneficial to manage the checking in/out etc. of files directly from SourceSafe and just store the VFP projects as actual SourceSafe files (in other words, don't set up your VFP projects under source control just store the files contained in the projects in your VSS projects and check them out from the VSS environment).

The whole integration thing with the VFP project manager has actually been more of a hinderance than anything else, as well as masking the concept of version control behind the PM.

Also, once you have all your files in SourceSafe projects, there is no need to keep sharable copies of them on the network (another flaw in my feeble minded implementation). All checking out/get latest version for compiling etc. is done to a working folder which should be on your local hard drive.

Hope the above is helpful and welcome to the wonderful world of version control (I guess the PVCS guys have been doing this for years).
