I have a table with just under 400,000 records - one of the fields has the postal code. I'm looking to find a data file that contains information related to the 'forward sortation' portion of the postal code (the first three characters).

Any ideas on where I may be able to get my mitts on one of these files (by the way, I had a cursory look at the Canada Post website all I could find was a $2,000/year subscription for this type of information - I'd like to think that it could be had for less than that). TIA.
If you want real demographic information you will have to pay...
I have used PSearch and PCensus in the past...
I believe 'Tetrad' made the software...
the reason for the high price is the price the canadian government charges for its census information placed in an electronic retrievable format....
the company i was working for at the time paid about $10,000 for PSearch and PCensus.....
they were both great products....
