Thanx Rick, got my "hello" msg in the responseText property. Now that the plumbing works, I can try creating the SOAP envelopes. Don't get much practice with this stuff at my current job, so I like to dabble a little just to keep in touch.

Also, my guest account was disabled and I didn't know I had to unload the Virtual Application before changes to the ASP would take effect.

Now for the 60m dollar question: How is an HTTP connection, like the one we just worked out, better than an ordinary C\S connection via TCP when using Fat clients?
