No, I am raising points counter to yours to make sure that contrary points are known.

>As somebody who admits that he has not worked with SP's all that much, how can you say that returning more than one value is a rare or common occurance?

I only said that I have never constructed an application built around them. Rather than pointing out my alleged lack of experience, perhaps you could add value to the debate by giving an example that could be used often enough to move the practice from the 'rare' category?

>I hope you are not taking debate lessons from Mr. Ryan. He is not a very good teacher...< s >.

If two people pointed out the same category of fallacy in two different arguments of mine, I would be looking at my own debate skills rather than accusing the two others of collusion.

>The deal is, I can - for the most part - take VFP code that implements ADO and paste it in VBScript, VB, VBA, etc.. with a few minor alterations. I cannot do the same thing with SQLExec. I HAVE to use SQLExec in VFP. ADO OTOH can be used in VFP, VB, etc, etc...

The ease of tranlation is a good point. Having used ADO in both VFP and VB, however, I have yet to have a need to do this. But that's not to say somebody else doesn't.
