I guess, overall, my main point is this -- I still don't think the general tone of this thread has been "throw it out" so much as "it's not the best-suited approach to enterprise work." And I think good arguments have been made for the latter point. As I have said before, we all do loads of different types of programming work. For my part, if I was designing a system that didn't need to communicate with other components, and didn't need to make use of c/s stored procedures, I would probably use remote views. Nice, simple, easy to implement. I use them often in one of my data mining projects, in fact. But RV's present some problems in more complicated scenarios, just as many other aspects of VFP present problems in complicated scenarios.
