When my wife and I were first married I was given a special output transformer that had an additional winding. The extra winding was for a negative feedback circuit. I designed and built an amplifier using that transformer and it was great! As long as you are biased class A all is well - just do not go into calss B or C unless you want to build an RF amplifier.
