>>It works over the Web
A traditional C\S works over the web, I do it everyday through my ISP. Weren't you the one who said the internet is just another network?
>>there's no connection time
What does that mean? I've never waited more than a few seconds to get connected to my SQL Server.
>>it scales on the server
Scalability is not an issue for me. The biggest app I got has only 70 users and people stay connected all day without problems. I've never heard anyone complain about poor performance. In fact, people connecting through modems while on the road say it works well.
>>it goes through a firewall
No one is allowed in if they don't have an account on network where the SQL Server resides.
>>HTTP security
How is that better than the many levels of authentication I already have? (1) NT authentication (2)SQL Server authenication (3)Permissions on database objects.
I'm just trying to figure out if web based solution is a better fit than a traditonal C\S app for the type of stuff I'm doing.
Thanx,
Charlie
