Ken - I've got it working. Dropdown on focus didn't matter. Long story short - I set up a new form with only the grid, implemented the combo and voila! I copied the grid to my working form and all is well. I don't know why, but this approach has bailed me out of other unrelated problem. In case you havn't surmised, I'm a VPF neophyte so I sometimes have to resort to silly things. Thanks for all your help.
