Hello,

I have a problem on a small peer-to-peer Windows network. I have a FPW2.6 application residing on a Win95 box. The application directory is shared. Other computers on this small network have mapped a drive on their computer to the executable's share. From this mapped drive, they have created shortcuts to the executable on their desktop. When they click the shortcut, the executable starts to load, then they get the error "Library file is invalid."

If you run the executable from the Win95 box, it works perfectly. The problem only occurs on the networked computers.

This error is rather interesting to me because this program has worked properly for over two years; i.e., using shortcuts from drives that are mapped to the Win95 boxes' directory from client computers. (The clients are Win95 boxes too.)

I have checked all of the .exe., .fll, .esl, font, etc. files and they are all marked as "read only." I have re-installed all new .exe, .fll, .esl, font, etc., files. Again, the program works fine on the Win95 box on which it is installed, but the client boxes all get the error.

It almost appears as though the Client boxes are having a problem seeing the directories where the files reside, however, the mapped drives are working properly in that you can see all of the files, you can open text files within the directory, etc.

The client tells me that nothing has changed and they have no idea what is causing the problem. I have tried everything that I know to try. I hope someone has some other suggestions for me.

Thanks,

TFISHER
