Can sombody explain this about the November issue of FPA?
I just received my 11/2000 copy of FPA today. Can somebody explain the logic here. Some guy gets 7 pages to discuss how to use the MS Popup Calendar Control. Rick Strahl OTOH, only gets 5 pages to talk about COM Objects and TCP/IP. The super_COM was good as well. Too bad that was only 4.5 pages long. Are the priorities whacked or what>>>>
WHen you only have 20 or so pages of possible technical content, does it really make sense to devote almost half the magazine to a topic that is both pretty basic and is well documented anyway?
And just when I thought the editorials could not get worse, the current issue is nothing more than a re-hash of the same marketing message we have received for the past year. I had to chuckle when I saw the looking ahead part of the editorial. It was the smallest paragraph..< s >.. Here is the text:
"The MS Development team concluded teh keynote focusing on the future of Visual FoxPro: To build a better product, so your productivity increases. Plus, provide a way for VFP developers to integrate with applications built with Visual Studio.Net."
Man, that is hard hitting..< bg >.
Here is a suggested topic: "Why VFP should not be part of .Net..." It is both topical and thought provoking, and very relevant - especially in light of the discussions in the VB camp... Oops, scratch that, I just answered my own questions as to why you won't see that editorial in FPA...< s >...
Nice to see all those suggested changes are taking effect...< s >....
