I've been looking into the idea of a data controller class that can be used for all data i/o into the bus. tier - no more 'use' commands in a business tier code block.

I know about dataclass 2000, but in this case, I will need one that can work with native VFP DBCs and Tables for now, and then be changed to use somebody's SQL server whenever (the company admits it's necessary).

What I've been thinking of for some time now, looks much like the description Marcus Egger has given in his "Advanced Object Oriented Programming", but...

What I'm looking for is any ideas, models, considerations, etc,., that you-all have already had, that might save me a few years of reinventing the wheel.
