Hi:

I have 2 programs that instanciates the same COM object simultaneously - Task Manager shows 2 instances (the COM .EXE is on the local machine)

The COM object executes SP’s, that’s it. Both programs poll the COM object every second: an ADO Command Object is run every second from both programs. Presently, I have 10 workstations all polling the SQL Server 7.0’s SP via this COM object. And all work fine, however…

…I’m wondering if there’s a better way.
1. Is there a way that both programs on the local machine can access 1 instance of the COM object?
2. Would DCOM be a better way? That will mean that the sever will have at least 20 instances of the COM object (10 workstations). If 1 above is possible … 10 instances of the COM object?

TIA
