You are, of course, correct. However, I am doing a Q&D conversion of some 2.6 code to visual. I am using this nasty function to simulate functions from 2.6 that MS says are "included for backward compatibility" which means that, although they do nothing, your program does not blow up when it hits the do nothing. Things just don't work.....
Somehow my idea of backward compatibiity and their idea just don't look a thing alike.
