There may be circumstances and advantages to having only free tables. Losing transaction tracking, updateable views, cascade deletes, triggers and stored procedures is giving up a lot, but sometimes it has to be done. Giving up the DE forces a programatic implementation in form.load and refreshments in form.activate or pageframe.page.activate, but you can be in worse situations.
