Well, NT sucks. Shoot the IT guy who took you off Novell for NT! ;). There may be some settings in NT that would effect this, but I can't help you there.

Outside of switching back to a *real* server, I think you'll need to make sure you're using optimistic table buffering and think about switching to parameratized views.
