I think that's an excellent idea.
If somebody were to do that, I'd ask them to use xCase as a basis for their talk. I have no association whatsoever with Resolution that produces that product but IMHO it provides huge "bang for buck" in shifting between backends. In 75 minutes one could show the creation of a SQL Server and an Oracle model from local tables in a dbc, cover issues like nulls and handling blank dates and default values. Plus, examining the scripts it produces is quite a good way to pick up the tricky parts.
