The name of the game for MS is not to please you, me, an Office User, or anyone else.... but in the corporate world the game is please the stockholder. MS thinks one way to do this is to sell millions of new copies of VB.

>VB.NET compiles to the same IL as C# and VC++, so its not like any product has a performance or specialized edge over each other. MS says that VB.NET is available so companies can protect their VB investments, but we've all heard that most code written in VB will be useless in VB.NET. So how much is it really protecting anything?

>It almost seems like a poor use of resources at MS to even move VB up to .NET. Is it just me, or is the Visual Studio is turning into less of studio and more into one product with 3 or 4 different "skins" for the syntax. And that will be even more true if VFP turns into VB.NOT/C#. Doesn't seem worth the price to only by one product.
