I have a scale connected to com1. I have tried to use mscomm and an activeX control someone from this site recommended io.ocx from Stephen Payne. I have tried both in vain.

I have the correct baudrate, databits, parity and stopbits set.

Using either mscomm or io.ocx the return string I get is "".

I can't believe there isn't someone out there who has successfully accomplished this task.

Some good old fashion code sharing would be greatly appreciated. I don't believe in re-inventing the wheel!

Any help - beyond "use mscomm" would be wonderful.
