>>>Should the government take even more control from us?
>>We are the govenment. We hire people to take care of the details required for flush toilets so we won't have to dig a hole in the back yard.
>
>Wrong, if "we" hired them, "we" could fire them, or better yet - tell them what to do. It's almost impossible to get an incumbent out of office, and you sure can't tell them what to do!
Recall petitions and the next election cycle
>
>>>Should we have to pay even more taxes than the usury we are currently paying?
>>The Swedes pay a lot of tax - They have a good living standard - Our living standard aint that good, unless a shinney pickup truck is what one considers a good living standard. I
>
>Quantify "ain't that good" I think our living standard is excellent.
It's not the best - in fact it may be 5 or 6 tiers back,
>
>>>Should people take responsibility for their own actions?
>>They are. The terms of the contract are laid out in the constitution.. But w/o governement we'd be responsible for digging holes in our back yard. Your neighber could even throw his night soil over the fence, and you would be responsible for digging a hole for that too, unless you wanted to fight with him over it.
>
>So you didn't pay to have your septic system installed? I'm paying for the one going in my new house and all my neighbors paid for theirs too!
Yeh, but the government sets and enforces standards so your neighbor's septic won't leach into your well.
>
>>>Answer those questions and the candidate comes into focus!
>>Candidates don't do the work of the people. They're just pretty faces. The beaurocracies do the work. Beaurocracies are forever. Candidates are a flash in the pan
>
>Hhmm, I can cite a few elected officials that have done the job, and done it right. Many of the founding fathers, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, etc. Then there was Lincoln, Roosevelt (Teddy), and Ron (my man) Reagan, and a whole lot more. Don't think the man/woman doesn't matter, they do.
Some people lead horses to water better than others. Look what Jim Jones did in Guiana in the name of righteousness. Sometimes we're lucky
>
>>>Finally, take pride in voting! You are one of the reasons we have had to deal with Clinton for the last 8 years. Gee, thanks.
>>Yeah, but I really enjoyed those erectile dysfunction commercials the loser worked in.
>
>The "winner" could have used a little more dysfunction, don't you think?
Beween disfunction and non-disfunction - I choose would non-disfuntion. I can never figure out what people who are sqeamish bout the ole in an out are up to.
Imagination is more important than knowledge
