As for the date, it's rather dd.mm.yyyy in most of the world, though it's language based, and countries may use different systems because of that. For one, Hungary uses yyyy.mm.dd, simply because that's the way dates are pronounced that way.

It's funny though, that USA uses mm/dd/yyyy while the British are using dd/mm/yyyy, and they are using (or are separated by) a language they have in common.

Before coming here, I was trying to practice fast conversions in my head (like, using 1.6 km for a mile rather than 1.61, 25mm for an inch and not 25.4 etc), and pretty much got lost when I tried to convert the phases of the Moon :)
