Thanks, I have a copy of that whitepaper. My workplace is a telemarketing center. We use a UNIX-based dialer that downloads it's files to Excel. I want to to be able to analyze the transaction files (these are the 200,000 record files). These transaction files are further drilled down to another (much smaller) file for analysis. After this drill down, the transaction file is used solely for telephone number lookup. I have had it up to 400,000 records so far for testing and VFP is able to find all occurences of a telephone number in less than a second. And I'm running this on a 486/33DX, Windows 3.11, and 16 meg of RAM. So I believe that VFP will serve the purpose nicely.
