David,

I don't know about the Virginia market, but in Los Angeles VFP started dying 3 years ago and is pretty much being laid to rest in a coffin as we speak.

Medium -> Large companies that had developement in VFP started switching 3-4 yrs ago. There are a couple large companies that I'm aware of in LA that still do VFP today and I know that at least 2 of them have said that they will switch to VB on .Net release.

Any decent size company that I interviewed with over the last 2 years that used VFP typically used it to move data to SQL Server, nothing else. All real development was done in VB.

>People have been saying that VFP has been dying since it was released. You can create your own reality on your views of the facts. My view is many companies and government agencies are going to keep using VFP for the next five years or until it is not cost efficient to do so. Then they will find another tool to get the job done.
