Thank you once again. Yes, I want the user to interact exclusively with the description from the lookup table while just its ID is stored to the grid’s table. I'm actually comfortable handling the coding to programmatically manage adding a brand new description into the lookup table.

As you state, combo.Style = 0 may not “work as advertised”. My combo box is bound to an ID field in the grid’s table but, when combo.Style == 0, the displayed lookup description invariably gets truncated to the bound ID’s length. I haven’t overcome this behavior yet but will continue trying.

I need to deal with some other work for a bit but will let you know what happens. Thanks again!!! (Still open to *any* additional guidance)
