last week, an acident occured to our development/recovery catalog db. No sweat, or so I thought, restore from backup. Recovery catalog is gone. Restore from tape. never been done (not MY department's job). try recover database until time...
wants an archive log that does not exist. Try to force it to use the highest avail archive log, won't do it, needs transaction number form non-existent log file.

Short of recreating the database from scratch, thereby loosing our recovery catalog for good, I'm stumped.
