Even if I had the funds for that initiative I would not do it. It is MSFT's product and they do have the funds but do not see VFP as worth enough to fund such an initiative.
VFP has stayed alive on its own merits and that will continue for many more years. VFP's lot in this world is database tool that has its own audience. I think the community that believes that VFP is a solution needs to make sure that MSFT doesn't sweep it under the rug.

>Sadly, the question I asked was if YOU could fund such an initiative. We already know that MS will not - although they could. FWIW, I know you could not fund such an initiave.

>The point to all this is bringing up the point that you make with respect to the community needing to market the product. It is a senseless point since it is totally impractical for anybody in the community to consider such a ludicrous scheme.

>And, since you have come to the conclusion that MS is being VB/SQL - you now have your answer. Everything else is moot.

>With that in mind, why bother discussing what the community needs to do. Is it not a foregone conclusion as to VFP's lot in this world?
