I have a table with 31,000 records .

Within this I have 20 categories I want displayed across the top of my report.

Using the VFP Pivot Table Wizard which outputs to Excel this report only takes seconds to create.

When I try to do exactly the same with a Crosstab query it takes many minutes to complete. I have an index available for each relevant field involved.

I am used to VFP being superior in data handling to everything else I come across.

I need to use the Crosstab in my program.

Does anyone know what is going on here.
