1. Sorry, I didn't realise which section this message was posted in - I don't use MM so take what I have to say here appropriately.
2. If (as I am assuming) you want to modify the MM default behaviour for the caption, I'd search through the MM source code looking for _screen.caption (if MM uses _screen as its base container). You could then have a look to see if there was a hook there for changing the caption dynamically.
