Hmm... you may be right about Reagan. I know that the two parties did somehow manage to turn 180 degrees and end up espousing each other's views at some point, with some politicos switching parties. I'm not positive when, though... I'm pretty sure it was post-WWII but possibly before the late 60's? It just sounds strange to hear "60's Southern liberal." Maybe too much revisionist history? Too many times watching Misssissippi Burning?
