I know I an being a Devil's Advocate here, but the problem with campaign finance reform is devising a law that will hold up in court. It's a freedom of speech thang.

Pure speculation but I would bet on the development of economical nuclear fusion reactors before that happens. Besides, the premise that battery or electrically operated auto engines being cleaner that gas engines is baloney when you consider the amount of energy it takes to charge and recharge the cells.

The addition of MTBE to our fuels has done more to trash air and water quality than any thing the morons in DC have ever done to us. Keep in mind this was force upon us by EPA even though tests in Arizona and other States showed their science to be most erroneous. Too bad more States like California have not stepped up and banned MTBE from use in their States as well.
