If your report usually defaults to the present day, or a range of (for example) a week ago to today, you can put those dates into the textboxes too - Instead of just { } put in =date() or =date()-7 into the value field. (Note the equal sign)

>I am using a textbox to allow date entries...actually two text boxes so I can capture a date range. the textboxes are not bound to any data...just used to capture date values to be used in subsequent select statement. My basic question is, what is the best approach to validate the info placed in the text boxes to assure they are indeed dates. I did use formatting on the text boxes, but this doesn't prohibit invalid entries.
