You might try WSH version :
oFS = CREATEOBJECT('Scripting.FileSystemObject')
oFolder = oFS.GetFolder(lcFolder)
*? oFolder.Subfolders.Count
For each oSubFolder in oFolder.Subfolders
*...
endfor
