Not surprised :) The V/D bites.
The V/D can be used to create a view as long as it's not complicated.
There's eView (<-- should be a link) here in Files section that you might want to try for a visual designer.
Or you can do it all in code. I do this and extract single view only using GenDBCX GetView() function.
Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
