I found a way to file a complaint with the FCC on their website (www.fcc.gov). Filed it this morning. So we will have to see what happens. Knowing how the government works, it may take them several months to get around to it.

>>It isn't really a question of billing but of honoring contracts between markets. They (Verizon) only want to honor the contract length but then adjust the contract to their suiting without disclosure to the customer. See my other post in a reply to Michael. I've been battling them and getting nowhere for about a month now. They keep stonewalling on the issue.

>Sounds like it's time to get the FCC involved; there's a procedure for filing a grievance against a common carrier. IANAL, but I've been through the process once with SBC, and once they realized that you were serious about taking it to the Feds, were much more reasonable about honoring agreements that ultimately were with the same carrier as a result of various mergers.

>I've had generally good experiences with Verizon, except that their tri-mode service sucks in a few areas; I took a train trip and found the area south of DC down to Northern Florida to have very spotty coverage, and in my local area, when driving on roads that pass through rust-laden rock layers, they cut out spontaneously. I do like the Audiovox CDM 9000 phone.

>>>I've had service with Verizon now, and had no trouble sw3itching contracts - I originally had AllDistance service with BAM, and switched to one of their less expensive all distance services with a new tri-mode phone, and they got the billing right from the start.
