Ben,
The Universal Thread (UT) is an information exchange service
with members all over the world. Because it was once tightly linked to
the Virtual FoxPro Users Group (it is independent of that organization),
most of it's members are VFP programmers. However, it has forums for
Visual Basic, NT, '95, etc. (even one for fans of Godzilla). I get much
useful information from the UT, and have production code based on code
provided by UT members worldwide.
The Visual Basic forum currently seems to be unused. I've seen
messages in it similar to the one below. Here at NNS, with VB
programmers all over the place, the UT would be a good place to exchange
information. Once NNS starts using it, VB programmers all over the
world would join in the information exchange.
Basic UT membership is free. You can stay logged on to the UT
via the Internet, or have postings e-mailed, signing on to the UT to
only to respond and/or research. As you prepare to go to the new group,
you can convince other programmers of the value of the UT, further
expanding the information exchange potential.
