I am fairly new to SQL Server, so I will do my best to answer your questions:
You are in the Enterprise Manager, correct? With SQL Server 7, I believe you can manage multitple SQL Servers from one machine. With version 7, you can only have one SQL Server on a system, although I think this changes with SQL Server 2000.
Yes, all databases fall under the Databases node in the tree view. Every SQL Server can have multiple databases.
I am not sure about transfering a database or entire server from one machine to another, but I believe it is done with Data Transformation Services (DTS).
A great book I am reading to help me is Professional SQL Server 7.0 Programming by Robert Viera. Not geared for the VFP developer, but very good for a programmer.
