Hi Vin,
that worked great for populating the list but i still have another problem. the unique id for the name to be displayed is actually across 3 fields:

NAME KEY1 KEY2 KEY3

i can cycle through the list table and find the correct table with no problem, but this is not reflected in the combo box at all. how do i display the current record in the table?
