I don't know that there is any measurable speed benefit, but the ENDSCAN command does re-select the proper area itself. Though I do remember there was problem with this a long time ago (FP1.0x or FP2.x ???), where the area was NOT reselected. No problem with re-selecting it, if it makes you feel more comfortable.
